Amy N. Mullen, CFP®
President
Amy Mullen, CFP® is President of Money Quotient. In this role, she frequently presents at national financial industry conferences on the benefits and effectiveness of a values-based approach to financial planning, understanding clients' financial motivations and how to guide them through change, and creating long-lasting client-planner relationships. She also focuses much of her time conducting trainings and providing individualized coaching and consulting to financial planning practitioners. Amy is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and completed an Interdisciplinary Studies Degree with a concentration in “Financial Motivation & Change” at Marylhurst University. Amy is a member of the Financial Therapy Association and Financial Planning Association. She has served on the board of the FPA of Puget Sound chapter and as a Task Force member for the 2015 National FPA Retreat.
Outside of the office, Amy enjoys getting outdoors, photography, live music, and cooking.
Derek Hagen, CFP®, CFA, FBS®, CFT™
Director of Education and Communication | Financial Behavior Specialist
Derek Hagen, CFP®, CFA, FBS®, CFT™, CIPM is a Financial Behavior Specialist and Director of Education and Communication at Money Quotient. He teaches financial professionals how to bring science to the art of relationships, combining important elements of behavioral sciences, psychology, neurology, sociology, and effective communication. He has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Kitces Nerds Eye View, Standard Deviations Podcast, and the Human Side of Money Podcast. Derek earned a Graduate Certificate in financial psychology and behavioral finance from Creighton University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics (summa cum laude) from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He holds several professional designations, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Behavior Specialist®, and Certified Financial Therapist™ designations.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys playing squash and pickleball, and all things outdoors, especially hiking, camping, and biking. He is based outside of Minneapolis, MN.
Jim Comeau
Director of Learning Opportunities
Jim Comeau is the Director of Learning Opportunities for Money Quotient. In this role, Jim plans and schedules Money Quotient events including webinars, training programs, and special events such as the MQ Retreat. He also makes arrangements with presenters and event venues, facilitates webinar sessions, oversees event marketing, and manages the MQ Event Calendar and the Learning Opportunities Recordings Archive.
When not working, Jim enjoys team trivia, karaoke, attending concerts, and watching Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Paul Leighton, CLU, ChF
Trainer & Implementation Program Consultant
Paul began his career as a financial planner in 1983, when the profession was still in its infancy and struggling to define itself. Today, Paul works with Money Quotient Partners as an Implementation Program Consultant. His personal life reflects the same purpose that guides him professionally. Family, friends and working for the greater good are sources of inspiration and fulfillment. Paul and his wife, Jeanne, have three children and seven grandchildren. They enjoy spending time at their lake place in northern Minnesota with family and friends. He is active in his church and on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations.
Brenna Baucum, CFP®
Trainer & Implementation Program Consultant
Brenna Baucum, CFP® has spent nearly a decade in the financial services industry as a lead advisor serving mostly pre-retirees and retirees. With MQ, Brenna serves as a lead trainer for our Fundamentals of True Wealth™ Planning course, advanced trainings, and workshops. Elevating the financial planning profession is a passion, as is community involvement in her town of Salem, Oregon. She enjoys running, gardening, and spending time with her daughter Mika and her husband, Ben.
